BA Degree in Accounting and Finance or related fields
Job Description
- Handling petty cash, reporting monthly petty cash balances and giving advance payment to the purchaser;
- Prepare checks, check payment vouchers as well as income, withholding tax, and other receipts;
- Report daily cash balance and other monthly reports as per the organization's financial procedure;
- Record all income and expenditures, as well as collect and produce the necessary accompanying documentation (invoices, receipts, vouchers, etc.)
- Settle monthly salary and allowances payments for all staff and volunteers;
- Compute taxes owed and pay all necessary taxes (income, withholding, etc.) to the Ethiopian Revenues and Customs Authority on a monthly basis;
- Report to the Finance Manager regarding the state of finances of the organization on a monthly basis;
- Process the data into the accounting software
- Properly handle the financial document
- Settle the governmental tax obligation timely
- Receive incoming materials, supplies, and equipment and keep track of it in the books;
- Manage and update fixed assets registration book;
- Organize distribution of materials, supplies, or equipment to the staff members designed to use them;
- Control the stock and material as well as the issuing of any material;
- Recording, classifying, and summarizing all financial transactions.
- Issuing cheques, petty cash, CPO, and other payments, as per the demand of the college.
- Controlling receipts and comparing them with purchase requests, filing them accordingly.
Requirements & Skills
- At least 2 years and above working experience in Finance department.
- Excellent knowledge of IPSAS, Peachtree accounting, MS Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and web
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- NGO experience is a plus.
