I started working as a General Manager in Gujii zone mineral and Energy office in 2005 with a bachelor degree in accounting, and after working one year in a position, I transferred to Gujii zone Finance and Economic development office with the same position. While I was in Gujii zone finance and economic office, I was consulting the lower level structure of finance and economic development offices in more than 12 woredas to set up a good Public Expenditure Management System that helps them to use the budget resources effectively and efficiently.
Then, I joined Oromia revenue bureau as a Revenue study Officer in 2010 and was quickly promoted to tax audit and investigation section as a Tax Auditor. Before joining Oromia Revenue Bureau, I graduated Master’s in Public Financial Management from Ethiopian Civil Service University. While studying, I was elected as student representative in the university student council for two terms.
There are many reasons that I want to join the tax advising career. To start with, I have already worked in Tax Research Areas in the past and even now. Besides, I have published and unpublished research findings in relation to Ethiopian Tax System. At the moment, though my consulting certification is management consultant, I focus on the Tax and Public finance area. In addition to consulting my clients in the area of public finance, I am actively participating in social media platforms by blogging tax issues. Finally, I want to work in advisor position in public finance area because I truly enjoy interacting with tax administration.
